God has a way of putting you through the most awful, unthinkable rough n tough situations, which allows you to become closer to him, if you choose; leaning on Him and not man. I love the story when Jesus healed the man at the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:7). The man had been there for 38 years and was waiting on a man to help push him in when the water was troubled to enter the pool and be healed. Jesus told him Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. NOTE TO SELF: don't rely on man or the world to bring peace and happiness for whatever your trials are facing.....ever again.
Failed Company Guy (emphasis "guy" with chicago accent)
I've never been the "company guy", even still serving active duty military today. Rules, keeping them and following in the midst of one of the most disciplined organizations (or so they say) in the country. I did'nt fail at the Army, I just wasnt good at the politics of it, anyone who knows me will tell you that. I hated the fact I put my hard work in to make someone elses life easier, which I wholly understand is the way "business" or "life" works.
THE BIG RED BUTTON
Physical fitness, running, rucking, any type of physical activity to keep me going and moving has kept me driven and motivated through my adulthood, which has been majority Army. I've never really got fat, which was always a nightmare of mine, there was always a time where I had to BREAK GLASS, HIT BIG RED BUTTON for emergency. Meaning, cut the Alcohol, cut the popeyes, cut the red bulls and "lock in" (i hate that saying by the way). Nowadays I lock-in a smarter, not harder.
BUT joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30:5 (KJV)
As I am nothing but dust of the earth, I know that joy will come in the morning, through Jesus. I started the MUCK RILES Company for those may have been through some tough times, whether through substance abuse, over eating, or life-just-lifing. I've been there, dragging myself out of the mud, over and over and over again. Lean on the Word and try to rest in God. Hold of any horrible temptation until the next morning, and that's where you get a fresh start, where the joy is.
